Entrepreneurship Professor Talks Business to CNN Radio

A popular CNN online podcast will feature an interview with David Newton, Westmont professor of entrepreneurial finance, Friday, July 21. CNN officials say their podcast Web site is visited about a million times a week.
CNN-Radio will also feed the show, “The State of Business in America,” to its 2,200 radio stations nationwide, Thursday, July 20. The program is hosted by Ali Velshi, CNN business news anchor.
Newton founded the entrepreneurship program at Westmont and is a former contributing editor to Entrepreneurship.com. He has worked with more than 130 fast-growth entrepreneurial firms in the past two decades, writing business plans, financial strategy, venture capital, IPO pricing, strategic planning, and buy-outs and acquisitions.
Along with Newton, other guests of the show include Brian Dumaine, editorial director of Fortune Small Business magazine, and Rieva Lesonsky, senior vice president and editorial director of Entrepreneur Media Inc., which includes Entrepreneur magazine.
Newton is a founding member of the board of advisors for Santa Barbara Technology Incubator, and founder and CEO of TechKnowledge Point Corp., a global entrepreneurship research and referral online exchange. He is also publisher of EntrePoint.com, the most complete national ranking of collegiate entrepreneurship programs in the United States.
Newton taught at Pepperdine University and the University of Massachusetts in Amherst before coming to Westmont.
The podcast will be available, July 21, and will be listed under Long Form Programming and “The State of Business in America.”
