By
Westmont
Internationally acclaimed pianist Teresa Walters will play at Westmont’s Porter Theatre. The concert, Tuesday, March 7, at 8 p.m., will include songs from Johannes Brahms and George Gershwin. Tickets are $15 or $10 for students and seniors.
Walters is widely considered to be one of the world's most uniquely gifted virtuoso pianists. She is becoming one of the most widely traveled concert pianists in history and has performed in nearly every state in the country as well as on six continents. She has played venues ranging from Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall in London and Moscow’s Great Hall.
She has recorded several award-winning CDs including “The Abbe Liszt: Sacred Piano Music of Franz Liszt.” Walters was the first American pianist invited to perform three prestigious European recitals which honor the anniversary of Liszt's birthday. Walters will perform two songs composed by Liszt, “Sonnet 123 del Petrarca and “Benediction (1847).”
Teresa’s recital will be the inaugural performance of Westmont’s newly refurbished Steinway concert grand piano.
Proceeds from the concert will help pay for the piano.
