Music Students Head ‘Into the Woods’

Westmont students will present a fanciful production of Stephen Sondheim’s fairytale musical “Into the Woods.” The family-friendly show will run Friday and Saturday, Jan. 25 and 26 and Feb. 1 and 2 at 7 p.m. with a matinee Sunday, Feb. 3, at 3 p.m. at the Notre Dame School, 33 E. Micheltorena in downtown Santa Barbara. Admission is $12 for adults, $5 for children and $7 for students, and will benefit the choir’s May tour in Guatemala and Costa Rica.

The play weaves together several traditional fairytales into one mixed-up comedy of errors. More than 20 actors, singers and dancers will portray Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, Little Red Riding Hood, a wicked witch, and other favorite characters.

Largely student run, the production is directed by Professor Celeste Tavera with sets, costumes and production help from students Mary Posluch and Kelsey White.
