Seniors to Learn the ABCs of Health

A group of residents from Santa Barbara’s Vista Del Monte retirement center will be coming to Westmont in hopes of picking up some health tips. “Max Out on Life: A Wellness Lifestyle Approach” is a month-long, student-led presentation series that begins Tuesday, April 4, at 1:45 p.m. in Murchison Classroom 3.
Tuesday’s presentation will be “Help! My Hair Is on Fire: How to Deal With Life’s Daily Stresses.” Vista Del Monte residents will arrive on campus at 12:15 p.m. for lunch and a campus tour at 1:15 p.m.
On April 11 and 18 the presentation series will continue in Sierra Madre Lounge, at Vista Del Monte. Other topic will include “What Are Friends For? Social Connections Make a Difference,” “You Want Me to Remember What? Maximize Brain Power,” “Sore Joints Getting You Down? News and Tips Regarding Arthritis,” “Mom Never Told You to Eat Like This! How to Get Energy to Burn,” and “Want to Know a Secret (Fitness) Weapon? How to Gain Strength to Pick Up Your Grandchildren.”
The series is part of a gerontology class taught by Christine Milner, associate professor of kinesiology and athletics.
