Students to Showcase Their Musical Talents

Westmont student composers, vocalists and instrumentalists showcase their talents in several concerts this November. All performances are free and open to the public.
The new works of 10 student composers highlight the Composers Concert on Friday, Nov. 2, at 8 p.m. in Deane Chapel. Students Steven Yoo, Peter Harrison, Liz Nadolny, Emilee Letsinger, Andrew Combs, Emily Rutherford, Jacob Elliott, Nathan Frank, Joshua Stratton and Daniel Gee will present an eclectic mix of pieces performed by the composers and/or fellow students.
The Westmont Orchestra, under the direction of Michael Shasberger, Adams professor for music and worship, will be performing patriotic songs at the Veteran’s Day Orchestra Concert on Saturday, Nov. 10, at 2 p.m. in First Presbyterian Church, 21 E. Constance Ave.
Instrumental Chamber Concert, Sunday, Nov. 11, is at 8 p.m. in Montecito Covenant Church.
The String Chamber Ensemble Recital is Friday, Nov. 16, at 8 p.m. in Westmont’s Deane Chapel.
Steve Hodson, Westmont professor of music, and Robert Rockabrand, adjunct voice instructor at Westmont, will direct the Chamber Singers, New Sounds and the Men’s Chorale at the Vocal Chamber Concert on Sunday, Nov. 18, at 8 p.m. in Deane Chapel.
