Trio to Feature Works by Area Composers

The Debussy Trio Concert, featuring Harpist Marcia Dickstein, flutist Angela Wiegand and violist David Walther, perform a unique repertoire of 20th/21st century music on Sunday, Nov. 4, at 7 p.m. in Montecito Covenant Church, 671 Cold Spring Rd. The performance is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted to support the harp program at Westmont.
The trio is in its 24th season of offering repertoires that include musical styles from French Impressionism to American jazz fusion.
The concert will feature works by Claude Debussy, American composer Sydney Hodkinson and Southern California resident composers Ian Krouse, Paul Gibson, Don Davis and Bruce Broughton.
The trio has performed in international festivals in Copenhagen, Geneva and Prague, and at locations including the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC), Hollywood Bowl and what is now the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Orange County. Their latest CD, “Look Ahead,” features 10 works commissioned for the trio.
Dickstein, who has played on more than 350 film scores, teaches harp at Westmont.
